Course Overview: This course, the second installment in a Freshmen level writing curriculum, covers these three different genres of writing styles often used in academic and professional discourse: Practical correspondence, Descriptive writing, and Argumentative writing. Throughout the course, students will study and practice producing English writing pieces in each of these three styles, and will be assessed based on their ability to correctly choose and use various styles in various professional, academic, or interpersonal situations.
